DRIVING COMPLAINT LEADS TO EXPLOSION – witnesses sought

On Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 5:00 am, the Terrace RCMP received a driving complaint on the 4600 block of Queensway Drive, Thornhill, B.C.
While on route, Members were advised that the driver of the vehicle had collided with a propane line at a nearby lot. Members approached the vehicle which quickly and suddenly erupted into flames.


Emergency Health Services and Fire Services were called along with Pacific Natural Gas to assist. Members approached and extracted the driver, pulling the driver to safety. The driver was on fire and members quickly assisted extinguishing the flames. No other occupants were inside the vehicle at the time.


Police assisted as Emergency Health Services and the Fire Department arrived and the driver was taken to hospital to be treated for injuries.
